Niche Market Definition

Niche Market Definition

Grip Success is all about Niche Marketing. Besides how to be a success on the Internet, the content I'll write on this site will be about how to market to niches and how to develop niche websites (and networks).

I think it's important to communicate what my definition of a Niche is.  What is our Niche Market Definition?

First of all, what is a Niche Website?  Because in the context of Niche Markets we are focusing on building Niche Websites.  But you have to know how they apply to our overall definition.

What a Niche Website Isn’t…

It has nothing to do with the size of your website or the number of web pages on your site.  So a niche site isn’t, in my mind, framed like that; physically.  It has nothing to do with the development method or website platform.

It has nothing to do with the monetization methods…  A niche website can be monetized with any combination of things including: Adsense, affiliate links, your own products, memberships, services..

It has nothing to do with the traffic generation or marketing methods you are using.

Our "Niche Market Definition"

It’s a specific, focused, approach to a market.  It’s a chunk of a market; niche marketers are specialists within a larger context.  We zero in on sub-markets that aren’t tackled by your larger, more mainstream sites.

So, for instance:

  1. Candy is a large market.  A niche marketer may specialize in the Bubble gum niche…  or Home Made Bubble Gum…  or Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum…  Chocolate Candy, or to go more niched, Dark Chocolate Candy.
  2. Power Tools is a large market..  A niche marketer will focus on specific types of industrial tools, or tools that server specific purposes or that are used by specific types of people (flooring guys or roofers).

You have to have the ability to define your markets characteristics and visualize exactly who that market is...  Think demographics, geography…  A niche market is literally niched and defined.

You have to have the ability to define it through keywords. What will the market enter into the search engines to find your niche?

Why Do Niches Matter?

Niche Marketing has a lot of advantages…

  • - In many cases, you'll see better click through rates and greater conversion rates.
  • -Just like any time you specialize in something, you can better provide what that market seeks; you can better understand that markets needs and wants.
  • -You can become more perceived as an Authority..
  • -You can become more knowledgeable… just because you have a focus.
  • -You can more easily build fans or an e-mail list…  people are more naturally drawn to specialists.  You can do a better job of creating content for that group and can focus your content better.
  • -The search engines will LOVE you.  They like Authority Sites.  And a Niche Website is going to more easily rank in the search engines…  you’ll be able to more easily focus your keywords in Organic results.
  • -Your organic link building efforts will become easier.  People LOVE to link to Authorities and the content they produce!
  • -They do well with PPC Advertising…
  • -There's less stress from your end because you'll have a more focused business and content plan; you won't have to guess what to write about and will have an easier time with topics.

That's for starters...

So the advantages are huge.  Especially for most of you reading this that don't have huge budgets...

You aren't corporations that have established brands to build off of.  You may be just getting your feet wet!

Niche Marketing provides a doorway for anyone, no matter where you are coming from, to establish a profitable business online.  That is what we focus on here at Grip Success and what my entire network of sites you see listed on our About Us page focus on.

We teach what we practice. Cool

Hope you found this article helpful and you better understand what Niche Marketing entails..

Good Luck with Your Efforts!
