Do you want to be a success? Of course, everyone wants to be a success! But the road to that end is not always a smooth and easy course. And it can be a challenge to find the motivation to keep working hard and focusing your efforts. Just about every successful person that you will talk to in your life will have a story of struggle, days things didn't go right for them, trials and errors... and some failure. They probably had days they struggled finding the motivation to keep working on their business. What's important is what kept them going through all that; what keeps them going which results in them achieving all they dream. What keeps a person going even though things aren't going right for them at this very moment?
It really all boils down to reason and purpose. There's a reason they're doing what they're doing and they can look past the hurdles and struggles. They can easily absorb them, learn from their trials and keep moving because they are on a mission!
What they want to accomplish with what they're doing is far more powerful than the actual little problems they have along the way. They realize all those problems are temporary and necessary to get to their destinations. There is a tool that some people use and that's setting goals to accomplish certain things and rewarding themselves with things that they want.
This can be a very powerful tool and can keep you motivated even through the days things don't seem to be going right for you.
This tool will help you work through those days that you just seem to be too tired to do another thing. It helps you push through that...
Successful people, even though they'll sometimes have a headache, they might not feel very well, they might be very tired, have other distractions or lack of motivation, they still push through it.
To use an analogy, if somebody that's working out at the gym doesn't go to work out every time they don't feel good or have a headache, they'll never stick to the routine and accomplish their goals to be healthier and stronger.
It's the same way in business and marketing. You have to push through those things to accomplish your goals!
So what is this tool?
The tool is establishing a "Reward System" for yourself. Not just a vague, out of reach reward; not just a monetary reward.. although you can have some of those too.. but something concrete and something you can visualize and that's achievable. Have short term and long term rewards.
As an example, one of my members (he's also a partner of mine at CampaignBlasts.com) rewarded himself with a new car. Not just any car! It was a brand-new BMW.
And he got it right around New Year's. And the way he stated it is that it was a reward to celebrate all the success that he achieved in 2008.
I've seen him work... I've seen all the things he's been doing and how much energy and passion he puts into his days and business.
He earned the car! And I bet one of his motivating tools was that he wanted a BMW and Visualized getting it! And now he's got the BMW, THAT will put him in a very good mood, he'll be even more motivated and I'm quite sure he will have another very good year in 2009!
When you reward yourself with something and give yourself things that you want because you achieved a goal, you can really keep the motivation and positive attitude about life going... and you'll go into each day with much more energy, passion and focus.
It doesn't have to be a BMW; it doesn't have to cost a lot. For small goals it could be just going out for an evening with your wife or husband - dinner and a
movie. It doesn't even have to be something for yourself - it could be something you want to do for others. Try this technique and tool. Instead of just having goals, try building a Reward System for yourself. You'll experience something myself and others experience.. you won't mind putting in the time and working on your business because you are working for something more concrete; something you can visualize and that is in reach. And as a result.. You'll get more done and quicken the pace to achieving your dreams!
